Betsy DeVos to revamp Title IX policies on sexual assault
Due process is something that cannot be denied. Automatically believing an accuser is straight out INSANE!

Weinstein allegations expose culture of abuse
Sounds more like a cash grab and publicity stunt than legitimate sexual abuse to me. Weinstein may have taken advantage of his position to impress young, aspiring actresses and the young ladies may have attempted to use him to gain access to acting jobs, but that's not anything close to sexual abuse. As for the male actor claiming that his ass was grabbed by some powerful person in Hollywood, that's just a cheap and obvious attempt to gain publicity. Actors and actresses tend to be pathological liars who will do and say anything to get ahead and so I dismiss all this as just a money grab and publicity stunt although I am sure there are isolated and infrequent cases of actual abuse which do occur. However, when a whole slew of people come forward all at once, they're all just taking advantage of an opportunity and not reporting legitimate legal issues.

Hollywood 'Casting Couch' Sculpture Covered In Light Of Weinstein Sexual Abuse Scandal
Yet another politically correct over-reaction which creates a context which treats the accusations as if they are true without any critical reflection on the veracity of the claims made against the alleged perpetrator. AKA: typical California hysteria

No Sex in America Anymore! Top Russsian Journo Ridicules Harvey Weinstein & Kevin Spacey Hypocrisy
It's sad that we must go outside our own borders for sanity when it comes to media coverage of these types of accusations. I've seen several discussions of "the problem" produced by the likes of CNN, ABC, CBS, etc. and not one provided a neutral discussion which included the highly probable likelihood that the accusations are false and that the accusers hope to profit from the publicity or have a revenge motive or some other agenda. It's intellectually insulting when news outlets push an agenda and fail to acknowledge that these women are fabricating events which never happened. When so many women come forward in such a short time, then it becomes ridiculously obvious that this is one of those hysterical events in American history where the general public is caught up in a frenzy of complete and total bullshit... but it holds the interest of viewers and is good for ratings... so what the heck!

George Takei denies the #MeToo allegation against him
Generally, I'm skeptical of any accusation which is not made immediately. The longer the delay, the more questionable the accusation.

Lena Dunham defends her friend accused of #MeToo assault
It's estimated that somewhere between 40 to 60 percent of rape accusations which are reported in a timely manner are false. Delayed reports are even more likely to be false. This is true for other forms of sexual assaults as well. Don't allow anyone browbeat you into believing otherwise: FALSE ACCUSATIONS ARE VERY COMMON!

#MeToo on the march: The groupthink and hysteria begin
There is something profoundly dysfunctional about American culture. We get drawn into these stupid hysterical movements way too often!
Rape hysteria is a well-documented phenomenon, one expertly dissected by Dorothy Rabinowitz. Her masterful work No Crueler Tyrannies assailed “the child sexual abuse trials of the 1980s and 1990s where child care providers were convicted not only for crimes they didn't commit, but crimes which Rabinowitz argues never happened.” Our current example is similar.

Michelle Malkin speaking TRUTH about False Accusations
Malkin states that the false accusation rate is as high as forty-one percent. Actually that's a low estimate and especially low if we're talking about delayed accusations.

Riverside Teen's Mother Turns Her Son In For Child Molestation
The largest number of child molesters are in the 20 to 29 year old age range with teenagers close behind. Although the media hypes cases involving older men, the stereotype of the dirty old man is statistically inaccurate. The older a male gets, the less likely he is to break any sex-related laws (or any other laws for that matter). That makes sense due to the drop in hormones which fuel the sex drive. Despite continued media attention, child molestation rates have dropped to an all-time low, which is most likely part of the reason we see so many old cases being dredged up at this time. Law enforcement agencies must justify the continued employment of detectives despite the lack of a need for their services.

18-Year-Old Child Molestation Suspect Confesses To His Mother, Who Turns Him In
Usually molesters under the age of thirty stay under the radar by either not getting caught or as a result of the news not covering their stories. It's when someone has a position of power or public trust that the news considers these stories worthy of being covered. Statistically, what shadylady wrote is very true and can be easily verified through a number of sources. Older men just don't commit sexual offenses very often. Even when older men are prosecuted, it's usually for acts allegedly committed when they were young.
