Same problem when Bush declared Iraq had chemicals and used them against his civilian population. The lack of intel is always a problem when we depend on others or or intel from the sky. Agree if Trump knew for a fact there was nothing and still lit the fuse, bad news. I do think Syria has the gas that was smuggled out of Iraq before the NATO moved in during the first Gulf war. I have no problems believing the King would also use it or has used it.Why would he not? Until Trump moved into the White House who cared enough to do anything?

Other people have made this point, but it is worth repeating. There is no logical way that Asaad would use chemical weapons. It provides him with absolutely no strategic advantage. It only provides an excuse for the USA to respond militarily. This was true several years ago and it was true in April. The only people willing to believe that Asaad would make such a stupid move are those brainwashed by lame stream mass media.

I agree with you up to a point. Syria could gas all he wanted while Mr Obama was running the show. The world knew he would do nothing to stop it. Syria today must think twice and then hide behind Putins coat tails before they gas. Syria has had their test run and now today understand there is a new sheriff in town.

BREAKING Zakharova: US is preparing fake chemical attack in order to bomb Syrian forces
I'm convinced that Trump was fully aware that the Syrians did not use chemical weapons last April, but he's quite predictably adopted the same agenda that Bush and Obama pushed in the Middle East. This talk of a "new sheriff in town" is ridiculous. Trump has conformed completely to the ways of Obama and Bush. He's bought into the Neocon agenda. Any excuse is a good enough excuse if it allows him to grandstand and show how important and powerful he is. By joining in with the mainstream in Washington he greatly reduces his opposition and increases his popularity. Trump is a vain and shallow person and he has no deep-seated sense of ethics or morality. (That said, Hillary Clinton would have been worse, but for different reasons.)

At this point it seems pretty obvious that Trump jumped the gun when he bombed Syria for something that they didn't do. There will be no apologies or any of that, but curiously enough, Syria has been more or less out of the news for awhile. More attention has been paid to North Korea and Afghanistan as of late. Embarrassing to have bombed someone for something they didn't do, but, oh well, these things happen! LOL

CrustyOldFart: What's been most impressive in Syria is the way that the Russians were able to go in and kick butt so quickly. We supposedly have the superior military and yet we seemed to be completely unable to do anything against ISIS. Russia went in and if we weren't in their way they would have both Syria and Iraq cleaned up spick and span by now.

US Backed Syrian Rebels Using Chemical Weapons Confirms State Dept.
It was the groups backed by the USA that used chemical weapons. Not Assad! Why is this not even slightly surprising?

Tillerson points finger at Russia for Syrian chemical attack
Obvious bullshit. Russia and Syria have not used chemical weapons at any time during the duration of the current conflict in Syria. All such activity has been perpetrated by the so-called moderate opposition groups backed by none other than the USA. BTW, Tillerson is fully aware of this fact and so he is obviously a LIAR.

BREAKING: Russia Issues Warning to US! DO NOT ATTACK OUR TROOPS, We WILL Respond
ADVICE TO TRUMP: DON'T FUCK WITH RUSSIA!

It is obvious to anyone with more than a couple brain cells that Syria does not and has not used chemical weapons in the past several years. Claims of use of chemical weapons are obvious excuses used by the USA to justify military strikes. Elections in Russia are March 18th. That's just a few days away. The timing of this situation is very suspicious.
