Flipping Off Cops is Completely Legal
The judge got it right in this case! As American citizens we have the right to express dissent and to let the authorities know how we feel about the piss poor job they're doing running things! However, the judge in this case deserves a thumbs up!

Besides if an ex-president can do it, then the rest of us should be able to do it too. Bush calls it the one-fingered victory salute!

Sports analyst slammed for diversity joke :mad2:
It sounds like it wasn't actually even much of a joke. In fact, this sounds like such a harmless and insignificant thing to say that even complaining about it was making a big deal out of nothing! Nitpicking over comments that could be interpreted (with some effort) to be racist is actually a worse form of racism than making the comments to start with!

That's right, the real racists are the bigots who are complaining about the comment! In modern America you got to watch everything you say. If there's any way that some crazy person can misinterpret what you said and you happen to white and male, then you're in big trouble! So much for freedom of expression!

Why Did Two Men Go to Jail for Rap Lyrics and Social Media Posts?
This turns into an interesting discussion of what can and what cannot be used as evidence in criminal court proceedings. Artistic expression is protected speech and so unless a direct connection exists between song lyrics and a crime, the lyrics are irrelevant.

Steven Pinker on Free Speech
The Left Pole is that mythical place where any idea that doesn't conform to a narrow Liberal ideology is considered to be politically incorrect and to the right. It would make sense that there must also be a Right Pole then since ideological orthodoxy seems to exist at both extremes of the political spectrum.

#CNNBlackmail: Network accused of blackmailing Trump wrestling clip creator
Whether it's big government or huge corporations, neither should ever intimidate private citizens in order to squelch the expression of views that they may see as threatening! I think this will backfire on CNN and we will now see a barrage of anti-CNN memes and thus justice will hopefully be served!
