Mini Burning Man event pitched for fairgrounds
Maybe they should call it burning midget!
For those not familiar with the event, Burning Man is a world-renowned annual event held in the Reno area that promotes freedom of expression, a collaboration of innovative art projects, a wide variety of music, entertainment, theme camps, and mutant vehicles. Town Board Chair Harley Kulkin said that the fairgrounds would be an excellent location for a version of the popular annual event unique to the Silver State.

Mini Burning Man event up in smoke
A festival like this should not be held near a town. Although most of the people who attend these events are good, honest, dependable people, these events also attract a fair number of scumbags that you wouldn't want hanging out around town! This was a good decision on the part of the Pahrump Town Board. In any case, this is a very interesting article.
Roughly one week after the Pahrump Town Board gave its blessing to a Burning Man festival at the Pahrump Fairgrounds site, the event was unceremoniously canceled. Billed as a regional, miniature Burning Man, the four-day festival was set to occur over the Memorial Day weekend. Organizer Dirk Schmidhofer said at least two Nye County ordinances not discussed during planning stages abruptly put the brakes on it all.

Maybe if it also rowed on water... other than that what's the point besides looking weird and attracting attention? Oh. Now I get it!
