Walmart workers walked off the job in Dallas, Seattle, the San Francisco Bay area, Miami, the Washington, D.C., area, Los Angeles, Sacramento, Chicago and Orlando. Hopefully this spreads and they form a union!

Unions are the most effective tool that the middle class can use to fight against the ruling class. By organizing and using power to create laws which force the wealthy to give up some of the money they've made through the exploitation of workers, the middle class and the lower classes can become more influential and enjoy a better standard of living. Hopefully unions will become more powerful in years to come. Currently they are outspent by corporate interests at a rate of nine-to-one!

Crosby, Stills, Nash and Morello rage against Prop. 32
Prop 32 does nothing to limit the political influence of corporations, but it does silence the middle class. It's designed to make the ruling class even more powerful and to further subjugate the middle class.
The November ballot measure would make major changes to California's campaign finance system, including banning the practice of political contribution by payroll deduction -- the primary method labor unions use to raise political cash. Unions have declared the initiative their top priority this year. Morello, the former guitarist for Rage Against the Machine, told Rolling Stone on Wednesday that the measure "is another of the brushfire wars in this ongoing class warfare assault of the ruling class on working families."

Walmart Workers Threaten Strike on Black Friday :eek2:
Black Friday? I avoid shopping on that day anyways so as to avoid the crowds, but I do hope that the workers are able to get what they want and hopefully form a viable labor union in the process!
In an effort to make the retail giant feel their pain, Walmart workers have threatened to strike on Black Friday, the busiest shopping day of the year, if their demands for better working conditions, wages and benefits are not met.

Walmart Workers Promise Strike on Black Friday
Some people will tell you that a 10% wage increase for Walmart employees will result in a 10% increase in the cost of goods sold at Walmart. That's not how the math works!!! The wages paid to workers at Walmart account for less than 5% of the cost of goods sold at the store. Therefore, since 10% of 5% is ONE HALF OF A PERCENT, an item currently selling for $10 would increase in price by FIVE CENTS in order to pay for a 10% raise for employees at Walmart!!!!! (And the increased satisfaction of workers might increase efficiency and so the increase might be more like 2 cents per $10 item.)

Walmart Black Friday- Why Workers Are Striking
One family has more wealth than 42% of the population of the USA. That is so obscenely disgusting that such an injustice should not be allowed to exist. The irony is that the protest is about workers being forced to work on Thanksgiving. Workers should be protesting low wages and poor health benefits.

Walmart Sells Out of Guns, Bans 'Dangerous' Products
Ironically funny list of items that Walmart will not sell, but they will sell the same gun that was used to kill all the kids at that school in Connecticut last week! Kinda makes you wonder about the priorities of those running things at Wally World!

Why the nation's largest retailer impacts us all
Walmart sales data as a reliable economic indicator? Seems reasonable to me!
