No matter what the facts say, they'll say otherwise. It's a matter of pride at this point!

Desegregation isn't necessarily a bad thing as long as the underlying problems are addressed. The important thing to realize is that desegregation didn't really address the real problems. Some form of compensatory education needs to be offered and whether it's in a desegregated school setting is really immaterial. Desegregation made the liberals feel good about themselves and their ability to force others to do what they want them to. It stroked their ego, but that's really about all it did.

May not have been a bad thing?!! If it didn't do any good, then it was a huge waste of gas and just think of all emissions that produced! The liberals now whine about global warming, but it's their policies that put us there!

And now, without a doubt, their solution to global warming will cause yet another problem for which they'll come up with yet another harebrained solution. It's an endless chain of stupid when it comes to liberals. The same can be said for conservatives. Or as Frank Zappa once said, "There is more stupidity than hydrogen in the universe, and it has a longer shelf life."

Slowing the school 'summer slide'
Stated at the beginning of this video: "All American students experience summer learning loss. But only 10% participate in summer school or an enrichment program." Most parents don't spend time working with their kids on academic skills during the summer either and so teachers wind up spending 2-3 months reviewing concepts from the previous year and kids wind up getting further and further behind. This trend is more severe in low-income communities.

Food for Thought: US students struggle with hunger as tuition skyrockets
Not to be overly cynical or cold-hearted, BUT I have a feeling that these students can still afford their game consoles and smartphones. Although the price of college tuition has outpaced general inflation, it's still possible to afford to go to college providing that kids live within their budgets and don't waste money on unnecessary items.
