FAT PUSSIES?
Yeah, the video supports that statement, but I think it's a little harsh. You're undoubtedly right about lazy teenagers, but the same goes for adults. There is an obesity epidemic and despite all the information freely available to everyone on the internet, many people still take the path which leads to fat and lazy instead of healthy and productive.

There were some players on the team who are obviously overweight, but not all the players were overweight. It does appear that a couple of those guys have out-of-control eating habits, but I wouldn't say that most of the team has that problem. Sometimes children have weight issues, but most become leaner during their teen years. When a teenager has a weight problem there are some serious issues which need to be addressed.

twister: There's no doubt that childhood obesity is a huge issue and that there are far too many "fat teenagers" rolling around. The media hyped the fake problem of anorexia for many years and possibly parents overcompensated by overfeeding their kids, but the real problem of overweight children has been around long before the anorexia panic ever began and it's just become worse and worse. My hunch is that companies selling food products hyped the anorexia issue in order to increase consumption and that corporate America has no problem with obesity since not only does it result in more consumption of food products, but it also helps out the weight loss industry. It's a win-win for corporate America at the expense of the health of individual consumers, but that's how corporate America works: They cause a problem and then they sell the solution.

People who eat less tend to be healthier and that's bad for the health care industry as well as the food production industry. Good consumers spend lots of money on things they don't need such as more food than they should be eating!

HARSH? Not really. It's just the truth. When was the last time you heard about a Trona kid being a successful college athlete? They can't even make junior college teams! Very few, if any some years, would make any of the teams at Burroughs. It's that bad. Athletics in Trona is a joke! For that matter, the high school in Trona is a waste of money. Just close it down and bus the kids to Burroughs. The ones that don't flunk out will be better off and the ones that flunk out are losers anyways and so who the f**k cares?!!

zuma: It wasn't always that way. There was a time when it was possible to be truly proud to be a Tornado. Those times are gone. There's no use pretending anymore, but that's life. When it is time to move on, it's best to move on!

Someone told me that the Trona football team lost to Lone Pine last week. Was that their Homecoming game? Also I was told that the volleyball team has lost nearly all their games so far this season. What's going on? Has Trona gotten so small they can't even put together teams that compete with other small schools?

deathvalleyjake: Possibly spending $40K on the video game club has sent the message that spending time playing video games is more valuable than spending time outside engaged in physical activities. Just a thought....
