School Shooting Snapchat Threat
Although I think I'd take a threat made online through social media less seriously than one made verbally in a face-to-face situation, it's still something that needs to be looked into.

tronagirl: People joke online and they joke in face-to-face situations and sometimes it's hard to tell if someone is joking or not, particularly online. When it comes to threats though, a threat made face-to-face is much more serious than one made online and sent through email, text, or posted on social media. Although it's easier to prove that a threat was made when documented online, the one's to worry the most about are the ones actually made in actual social situations. Ultimately both must be taken seriously and people should realize that it's not funny to joke about harming someone.

BUDGET / LCAP PUBLIC HEARING
A short meeting was held Tuesday, June 7th in the district board room regarding the budget and the Local Control and Accountability Plan. The meeting started about fifteen minutes late and only lasted about fifteen minutes with additional discussion for a few minutes after the meeting was closed. Although the entire budget was the focus of the meeting, specific questions were raised about the following items which were listed in the LCAP Synopsis:

A. Shade Structures - $50,000 has been allocated to build shade structures. Board members asked about where these shade structures would be built. It was reported that one at the elementary and one at the high school are currently under consideration.

B. Weight Room Equipment - Board members wanted to know what equipment would be purchased and when this would happen. In particular, board members were interested in whether the needs of female students/athletes were being considered when selecting exercise equipment. Also they wanted to know which coaches and other staff members had been given an opportunity for input.

C. Elementary and High School Parking - $80,000 has been allocated for asphalt repair. Board members asked for details. It sounds like the elementary parking lot is the top priority, but the parking area in front of the school and the road between the maintenance facility and the elementary were also discussed.

D. Concrete Work - $50,000 has been allocated for concrete work. It sounds like most of this will be done in the area of the bleachers around the football field. (It seemed odd to hear this referred to as a "stadium" and so I'll refrain from using that word.)

E. Handicap Parking - This was discussed briefly. Board members would like to see more parking designated for handicapped individuals.

F. Following the close of the meeting those on hand discussed the onPoint (educational technology company) presentation that had preceded the LCAP/Budget meeting. Board members were excited about the gadgets and devices they had seen demonstrated by an onPoint rep. There was no discussion about the cost of the services to be provided by onPoint.

Yeah, I agree the word STADIUM does seem a bit much. It's just a football field and track surrounded by a chain link fence with some seating and lights. Stadium seems like a bit of an exaggeration!

A sales presentation? Most likely heavy on the glitter and shine and completely lacking in substance, which explains the enthusiasm! :roll2:

Black Students Receive Disproportionate Amount of School Suspensions
SJW misinterpretation of statistics gets really old after awhile. The assertion seems to be that disruptive black students are being treated unfairly when they are removed from class, thereby allowing the teacher to actually teach and thereby providing non-disruptive students with a chance to learn. SJW types seem unable to accept the fact that black students are simply more disruptive and less cooperative than other students. The real question to ask is why these students misbehave at such alarming rates. However, SJWs are unwilling to accept that individual behavior is the core issue here and that it just so happens to be black individuals are the problem. Instead they'd rather suggest that teachers are racist against black students. In other words rather than hold poorly behaved black students accountable for their behavior, they'd rather throw hard-working teachers under the bus.

Pretending that the problem is something other than what it really is doesn't get the problem solved. Teachers want to teach, but not all kids want to learn. Hold people responsible for their behavior from a young age and you produce responsible adults. Make excuses for children and you wind up with adults with a ridiculous sense of entitlement.
