She said they looked pretty pathetic, but sometimes middle-aged men going through mid-life crisis do some pretty silly things in a vain attempt to seem young and cool again. So is this some kind of trend or fad or are these guys just completely clueless?

Guys going through mid-life crisis sometimes do really smart things like get in shape and lose weight and sometimes they do really dumb things like wearing sagging jeans in a cringey attempt to seem young and cool. The odd thing is that even teenagers have given up sagging jeans and that just makes wearing sagging jeans even more cringeworthy!

Most likely the idjits lost a bet of some kind and as a consequence had to do something embarrassing in public.

Disqualified student president now reinstated
I'm not sure if there has ever been a disqualified student president at Trona HS, but here's a story of one elsewhere which happened recently.

Historians wrestle with how to teach LGBT history to schools
What does the sexual orientation of historical figures have to do with history? It's what they did in public that counts, not what they did in private! The classroom is not the place for this kind of speculation. The education department of the state of California should not insert sex into history.

Teacher fired after using art materials that showed nudity
This is just ridiculous. The guy found all the images in the SCHOOL LIBRARY. How can the school fire a guy for using materials they provided? This situation has massive lawsuit written all over it!

4-Day Week Being Tested in Some Oklahoma Schools
It saves money, but probably not educationally sound.

WE LOVE RUSSIA: Russian Boy Cries For Not Being Able To Go To School During Winter Break
I don't know how an elderly first grade teacher could get this kind of a reaction from a student, but here's the video...

shadylady: Cute kid! I never had a student get that attached to me during my entire career! Either he's quite unique or the teacher he's crying over is a remarkable teacher. However, there may be a point where the enthuiasm level gets to be a little too much and might be unhealthy. I wonder if the boy's mother feels a little put off by the boy's attachment to the female teacher. The father certainly doesn't seem to mind.

Iran bans primary schools from teaching English
Language and culture go hand in hand. To promote a foreign language is to promote a foreign culture which could ultimately undermine the culture within a country. The leaders of Iran have good reason to fear the erosion of their culture and banning English in primary schools will at least reduce the threat somewhat.

wildrose: It's a choice between participating in the world economy or protecting cultural traditions. Most countries have decided to abandon their culture. Money talks and few realize what they've given up until it's too late.
