I Review Native Plants for a Xeric Colorado Rock Garden
My favorite plant of the bunch is wine cups (Callirhoe involucrata).
Here's the brochure he's talking about. It's a PDF you can download.

Would you walk a mile for me?

The geranium is especially lovely. It's supposed to do well in zones 4 thru 9 and tolerates alkaline or acid soil.

A Beautiful Prairie Flower for Drought Tolerant Gardens
I'd like to see how this one does in the desert. It's related to blanket flower, but it's probably not quite as extremely drought tolerant or maybe it is.

Low Plants For Dry Areas
I really like the ajuga! The only problem is that it prefers acidic soil and the soil around Trona is alkaline.

Desert Plants: Desert Hackberry
The Desert Hackberry, Celtis pallida, is ideal for creating habitat for wildlife while helping pollinators. This drought-tolerant Sonoran Desert native plant also has thorns and can be used as an effective security hedge on your property.
