It looks like we're good for this year, but unless we get a whole bunch of these during the next decade we'll be in trouble. We have too many people using too much water and it's not likely that we'll escape extreme rationing for much longer.

At this point it looks like it won't just be a good or above average year. It appears that a record breaking year is very likely!

So much snow that avalanche concerns are higher than usual. Next there may be flood issues to deal with.

This situation is happening in Arizona, but similar scenarios are occurring in California. As the water table drops, wells must be drilled deeper and that's expensive. The aquifer that Ridgecrest and Trona depends on is steadily being depleted. A few bad years of drought could be disaster.

It's beginning to look like another drought year. December finished off 2019 with a lot of rain, but so far 2020 has been dry. The forecast I've seen looks dry for the next two weeks.

Sierra snowpack at 68% of winter average with more expected this week
Unless there is a lot of late season snow, it looks like we're in another year of drought. The average for the Sierras is just 68% of normal.

Snowpack Indicates Dry Year Ahead For California
Only 61% of average. Looks like another summer full of wildfires! Hopefully there is a ton of preventative measures being undertaken since we're obviously in big trouble otherwise!
