deathvalleyjake: In the short run perception might be more important than reality, but in many cases reality ultimately wins out, especially in cases where the perception masks a dangerous reality. But in a world where perception is everything and the media machine routinely does everything it can to build false perceptions, it really does seem to be all about perception. When the bubble bursts sometimes it spells disaster and sometimes it's just one of those moments of clarity where all of a sudden we realize what was going on behind the scenes all along.
