These two predict a civil war over water. I think that's a little far-fetched, but there could be court cases and some political battles.

Whether you call it an atmospheric river or a bomb cyclone, there's a lot of water falling on California, especially along the coast and the flooding in the San Francisco area is something atrocious!

California flooding: Officials preparing for more storms
Rivers overflowing, streets flooding, and houses damaged. All that and they say we're still not out of the drought.

California facing tenth storm system since Christmas
All these storms has got to be putting a dent in the drought although I hear that reservoirs are still not full.

How California's snowpack is measured
Snowpack provides 30% of the state's water supply. The Central Sierra Snow Lab is part of a network of locations that use a tube to measure how deep the snowpack is, and as a result, reveal how much water is stored in the snowpack.

Looks like there's plenty of snow up in Kennedy Meadows! Someone told me that most of the residents up there have been snowed in for over a week!

wildrose: I can hardly wait to take a trip up to Lake Isabella and see what all this looks like for myself. I'll try to get up there sometime in May if not sooner.
