If it's not about plants, but it is about the natural environment of Death Valley, then this is the place to post your info or question.

I'm NOT eating bugs
Mentioned is a book called The Population Bomb from 1968. It claimed that millions of people would die in the 1980s because of over-population. It didn't happen. So, what has changed? Oh, yeah, many modern countries are actually experiencing population decline and technology has vastly improved resulting in far less pollution!

desertrat: Very true. Technology has come a long way. In the 1960s it was rare for a car to get over 20 mpg. Now there are plenty of cars that top 40 mpg and then on top of that there are electric cars. Our population and consumption has not grown so much here in the USA. The problem areas are Africa, South America, and Asia. That's where the greatest amount of pollution emanates from.

Agree, China and India have a Middle Class now that is expanding leaps and bounds over what anyone expected in the 60's. Another thing with the electric car is it is still in some parts of the US being charged with coal. Better and cleaner coal generators but coal none the less. If we go back to Nukes along with the supplemental energy generated with wind and solar we will lead the world in providing lower emissions. Then if we can cap all the volcanoes around the world that spew Lord knows what I think our work will be done.

The population in Africa is growing in an uncontrolled manner and that is a huge threat to the global ecological balance. Asia and South America are problem areas too. The USA and Europe are growing very slowly and in some cases is shrinking. Population growth in Africa is the number one most serious threat to our environment and focusing on what we can do here on home soil is like a tiny drop in the bucket compared to the disaster happening in Africa.

ergot: There's nothing wrong with reducing our carbon footprint, but I don't like the tactics being used. If we really only had twelve years left, then we'd need to take some drastic steps to fix the problem. Just reducing individual consumption in the USA would have little or no effect on the global problem. That's what the libtards keep forgetting. The USA is just one country with a relatively small population. Our impact is insignificant compared to Asia, Africa, and South America. That's where the problems are and that's where changes would have the most impact. But since this is all a hoax they aren't talking real solutions. They're just talking to folks in the USA who they hope will be gullible enough to believe them.

What's Up With This Weather Stuff?
AOC blames white people for polluting the atmosphere and causing climate change. (NOTHING RACIST ABOUT THAT ASSERTION, EXCEPT IT"S COMPLETE HORSE MANURE.) Dice immediately refutes that with factual data showing that the cities producing the most pollution are in Africa, China, and the Middle East. No predominantly white city even makes the top twenty worst polluting cities!!!!! On top of that 95% of the plastic that is polluting the ocean comes from Africa. The truth is that the most conscientious nations are predominantly white and that the rest of the world should follow our example.... and AOC should shut her retarded pie-hole!

ergot: I find it amazing that people like AOC are either too stupid to recognize their own racism or too dishonest to own up to it. Not only are they racist, but they don't even bother to get the facts straight. Total lack of both moral and intellectual integrity and the way they are so eager to lecture the rest of us about just about anything is truly amazing. How she can be so arrogant, ignorant, and just plain stupid all at the same time is incomprehensible!

Greta And The Ecofascists
Is global warming a bad thing for everyone? Are there parts of the world that would actually benefit? And let's say it's really happening and that people are accelerating the process, can we actually do anything that would reverse the process?
