I wonder how that will effect tax laws?

When it comes to taxes the only direction is up. Theonly question is HOW MUCH? Any excuse will do when it comes to governmental money grabbing!

Polygamy might sound great at first, but just wait until the honeymoons are over! Anyone who has been married knows that one wife can often seem like one too many!

Mormon Pioneers - Act of Courage - LDS Church History
I'm sure something like this actually happened, but I'm also sure that the story has kind of been exaggerated more than a little to turn into church propaganda.

Ancient Aliens: The Alien Origins of Mormonism
This presents an interesting take on the story of Joseph Smith and the origins of the LDS church. Not exactly believable, but it does show some creativity in the way it weaves UFOs and the Mormon story together. A question would be why we don't hear about aliens continuing to lead the church or at least deliver some guidance from time to time to its leaders.

mrfish: Who knows, maybe the aliens do continue to provide guidance to the leaders of the Mormon church. They claim that their prophet receives divine revelations and so possibly aliens are talking to their prophet. The leader of the Mormon church is called the prophet and the current prophet is a guy named Russell M. Nelson. He's the seventeenth prophet of the church. He's currently 98 years old. He has quite an impressive biography:

The Black Turtle book called Hot Springs Casualties includes some aliens who trick a small town pastor:
A group of hippies are reported to be swimming in the raw up near a local hot spring and, as might be expected, many of the more conservative townsfolk of Liberty are alarmed by this revelation. Pastor John Wilson leads the fight to save Liberty from permissive outside influences, but experiences a little alien intervention along the way. Convinced that he has received a revelation from the Almighty Himself, the pastor must convince his parishioners that the hippies aren't so bad after all and that, in fact, they should be emulated in certain ways.

I've read five of the seven Black Turtle books and two of the other books by the same author.
