The cult leader was a guy named Jim Jones and he adopted children of different races and called his family the "Rainbow Family" and eventually he referred to his entire cult that way. Jonestown was supposed to be a "socialist paradise" and Jones rejected the Bible as a tool to oppress women and non-whites. He also said and I quote: "If you're born in capitalist America, racist America, fascist America, then you're born in sin. But if you're born in socialism, you're not born in sin." The parallels are amazing and there's more if you want to dig into it.

That's pretty accurate and Charlie Manson must be laughing from the grave over the race war the democrats have spawned.

Charles Manson was not guilty
If Manson had stuck to the facts instead of speaking in abstractions, then he might have been able to get people to understand the actual facts of the situation. His crazy behavior reinforced the idea that he was the mastermind behind the murders and so in many ways he was his own worst enemy unless his intent was to remain in prison.

Manson was definitely crazy and he probably ranted and raved about a bunch of things which implied that he approved of violent acts. However, it seems that he and his followers were almost constantly under the influence of drugs and so it was highly likely that no one was thinking clearly. It is likely that Manson himself had very little to do with the murders. There is no evidence that he specifically suggested that anyone should be murdered. He had grudges and he liked to rant and rave, but there is no reason to think that he actually ordered anyone to go out and murder anyone. It's much more likely that one of his followers such as Tex Watson actually planned and instigated the murders. If Manson had played his cards right and fully cooperated with a competent lawyer chances are he would not have been convicted of murder. On the other hand, it's quite likely that prosecutors would have found something to convict him of and recall that back then drug offenses carried extremely long prison sentences. So, maybe Manson figured that he was fucked one way or the other and that he might as well make a public spectacle of himself. After all, he always wanted to be a rock star and in many ways that's exactly what he became.

There's news that BLM has been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize. You might ask if this is some kind of joke, but it's true. BLM, as in Black Lives Matter, the terrorist organization, has been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize. This is so absurd that it would actually make more sense to posthumously nominate Charles Manson for the prize. He "contributed" as much to world peace (or peace in any context for that matter) as has BLM!

Manson may have been the subject of an experiment and may have been given drugs early in his life without his knowledge.

pdm: Manson was a nutjob and whether he was in favor of protecting the environment or not seems pretty irrelevant to me.
