CrustOldFart: I heard a rumor to that effect too. On top of that I heard he spent a lot of time exploring quite a bit around here. Not sure if it was just confined to the Panamints, but someone said he was seen up at the Ruth Mine or thereabouts at least a couple times.

BoraxBill: He hung out a lot with a local prospector who actually worked a few mine claims here in the valley. I doubt Manson was interested in doing any mining since that's hard work. Most likely he was just looking for holes in the ground that he could dump dead bodies into!

wildbill: What I hear is that the whole Manson Family partied here in the valley on several occasions. No doubt that they were a wild bunch, heavily into drugs. As for dumping bodies into old abandoned mine shafts? I wouldn't put it past them!

Demolition of Store Building
A couple old walls have been exposed as a result of a recent and ongoing demolition project.

Store Demolition: I noticed that they were working on the buildings on Saturday. It must be an important project if they're working on a Saturday. BTW, that makes two major demolition projects going on at the same time in Trona. If this keeps up there won't be a town left in a few months! LOL

Just a guess in my case. They have been going up in small towns all over such as Inyokern.

Dollar General Store? That's what I've heard too. I was hoping for a WalMart or maybe a whole shopping mall, but a Dollar General might be good, I think. It might even provide some local employment opportunities and that would be a really good thing!

If it is a Dollar General hopefully it will be like the on in California City. Unlike the one in r/c and Inyokern some have the "Market" feature which would be great for Trona.
The Market includes fresh veggies, steaks, breads, dairy, plenty of frozen foods, and
...... BACON!!

As far of pricing goes meats and veggies are a little high. I think it is a store of convenience but not a primary choice for a weeks worth of food.
