Great Divide Mine, Argus Peak, Argus Mts (Argus Range)
Here's the location.
A former Au-Fe-Cu mine located in sec. 12, T23S, R42E, MDM, 4.5 km (2.8 miles) NNW of Argus Peak (coordinates of record) (approximately 1.7 miles SW of Quail Spring; approximately 2.8 miles SW of the Ruth Mine; and approximately 2.5 miles SE of Birchum Springs), on military reservation land (China Lake Naval Ordnance Test Station). Discovered in 1940 by Mr. John B. Hovis.

And this is what you should see if you were to visit.
Workings include underground openings with an overall depth of 3.66 meters. The shaft is inclined at approximately 75W and looks as though it opens up approximately 10 feet into the shaft. Possibly a second level as indicated by a change in dip of a 3 inch galvanized air line. Workings are unsafe. A wooden platform with a hoist above the shaft is badly decayed.

There are various rumors about extensive underground facilities on the base. I've heard different theories about their precise locations. Some are said to be beneath the mountains of the Argus Slate, and Coso ranges. Obviously the military isn't releasing info, but it's definitely an area of interesting speculation.

Before they closed it up I explored the Ruth mine. There were lots of fairly big natural hollow places in the mountain. If to scale I would imagine places like Argus peak would have huge ones inside them.

The problem with Argus Peak is that it's immediately north of the Wilson Canyon Fault. Probably not the best place for an underground facility.

I'm just saying there are probably some huge natural underground spaces in them mountains. I guess if someone built something in one of them and something happened to it they could always claim it's not "their fault"...

I think they should name a fault after Ocasio Cortez!

I'd save that name for a major disaster zone and use more benign names for something as relatively harmless as a fault!

100% PROOF OF An explosion at CHINA LAKE EARTHQUAKE
This sounds more like the ranting of a nutjob than legitimate info, but you can decide for yourself!
