Hot spell in Panamint? It's hot in PV from spring through fall. As for the location, well the Alabama Hills look very little like anything in PV, but they are more convenient for Hollywood types.

Panamint Valley is pretty inhospitable compared to Owens Valley. No services. It's hotter. The roads are rougher. Definitely not Hollywood friendly at all!
