JUST IN: Rand Paul questions Dr. Rachel Levine on puberty blockers for minors with gender dysphoria
If a minor cannot legally consent to sex, then why would that minor be allowed to consent to some sort of sex reassignment surgery? I realize there are extreme cases where a person has a physical abnormality which should be resolved surgically and possibly with some sort of hormone therapy, but those are exceptional cases. Physically normal humans under the age of eighteen should not be permitted to make permanent anatomical changes through the use of surgery or hormone therapy.
