Windows 8

Postby surfsteve » Thu Jan 31, 2013 11:54 am

I was recently trying to help a person with a new computer that had windows 8 and was stumped.
Even after using windows 7 for a year I still think XP is the best version of windows.

Here is a pretty good video on the fixes for windows 8.
Unless maybe you have a touch screen computer it looks like a pain in the ass.

Is anybody using the Chrome browser they mentioned in the video? I like Firefox so much I never even tried it.

I've only used it for about 5 minutes but to me it looks like the software you get stuck with if you buy a new computer. Who in their right mind would "upgrade" to this? I think they should call this one a dupegrade just like Windows Vista was.

Something tells me that you really need to go out and buy a touch screen monitor in order to find out how bad it really is.

This Is What Windows 8 Looks and Feels Like :pac:
Actually some of these features look pretty good. It's a little different from other OS's but change is good.

Change is really good if you work for windows. Otherwise it's expensive and annoying. I don't know anybody that uses a tablet but I suppose it's good for them. At least until next week or whenever the next version of windows 9 comes out.

I picked up a new computer last week with Windows 8 on it and I like it just fine. It's easy to use and does everything I want it to do. I've had a fun time trying out new features and I've downloaded software and haven't had any problems. Nothing to complain about as far as I'm concerned!
