Nuremberg Principles

WikiLeaks spokesman invokes Nuremberg in NSA debate :curse:
There are seven Nuremberg Principles. Every person working for the government of the USA has an obligation under international law to report any act committed by the government which violates the Nuremberg Principles. There can be no doubt that Snowden acted in accordance to international law. (The same is true of Bradley Manning, BTW.) Many actions taken by the government of the USA in recent years are in clear violation of the Nuremberg Principles. Supposed legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin presents a weak argument to the contrary, but is basically put in his place by Wikileaks spokesman Kristinn Hrafnsson.
Principle IV states: "The fact that a person acted pursuant to order of his Government or of a superior does not relieve him from responsibility under international law, provided a moral choice was in fact possible to him". This principle could be paraphrased as follows: "It is not an acceptable excuse to say 'I was just following my superior's orders'".

NOTE: I decided to post this topic to Technology and Gadgets since technology is a huge part of this story. Not only are Snowden and Manning often referred to as hackers, but Wikileaks is involved and all the leaks of classified information involved the use of technology. On top of that, many of the violations of human rights revealed through the leaks involve the use of technology.

NSA wants a supercomputer to crack all encryption :roll2:
It's a never ending cycle: Uncrackable encryption methods are developed and in response methods to crack them are developed which leads to better encryption methods, etc., etc., etc. Any advantaged gained by one group or the other is only temporary.

Could This NSA Computer Destroy Your Privacy? :steaming:
Obviously we want our military intelligence organizations to have the best tools possible. That's a simple matter of national security, but we don't want them to abuse the power that they have. Public confidence in these organizations is at an all-time low now after the Snowden leaks. Thanks to Mr. Snowden for revealing the abuses. His contributions to the preservation of freedom are monumental and hopefully other individuals will follow the Nuremberg Principles in the future when they become aware of governmental malfeasance.

NSA bugged devices without internet access
Bugging devices without internet access isn't that big of a deal if you are able to physically insert transmitters in them!
:smack:
The interesting thing about this report is that:
57% of Americans consider Snowden to be a WHISTLEBLOWER
34% of Americans consider Snowden to be a TRAITOR
Coincidently, 34% of Americans are BRAIN DEAD!

Anyone who believes that Snowden is a traitor doesn't know what it means to be an American. We cherish our freedoms and anyone who does anything to threaten our freedoms is the enemy! Whether it's the enemy within in the form of a police state or some other form of tyranny or a more conventional enemy outside our borders, it's important to recognize who the real enembies are! Snowden is a true American hero and anyone who tells you otherwise is the true enemy!

I suppose it's all a matter of perspective. From the perspective of those who support the Constitution, the government is composed of traitors and Snowden is the patriot/hero. I'm not sure if we really care about the perspective of the criminals who have infiltrated the government of our country.

American Spies Tell BuzzFeed What They Want To Do To Edward Snowden
The real traitors are at it again! They're calling Edward Snowden a traitor. The one person in this country who most definitely is NOT a traitor is Edward Snowden! Well, actually Snowden is in Russia... but you get the idea!

So What's The Verdict On Snowden? #Patriot or #Traitor?
To suggest that Snowden is anything less than a patriot is to profess one's own ignorance!

Red News/Blue News: Edward Snowden
Daniel Ellsberg calls Snowden an inspiration who makes him proud to be an American. Kerry (and other corrupt politicians) call Snowden a traitor. Words can not describe how disgusted I am by Kerry and his ilk.
