a2z: Yep, the world runs on some form of Unix with Linux being probably the most popular form of Unix. Sure there are lots of Windows machines out there, but they only perform trivial tasks. If Windows were to disappear the world would recover and be better off without it. Without Unix/Linux our entire civilization would collapse and that's not actually any kind of an exaggeration considering how dependent we are on mass communications and electronic financial transactions. Some of you might tap into the system using Windows, but the system itself runs on Unix/Linux folks.

Re: Apple iPhone Security

Postby dilbert » Fri Feb 19, 2016 8:26 am

This whole situation with the FBI wanting to get past Apple iPhone security has got me thinking that the open source community could probably take security a few steps beyond what Apple has created for their iPhone. If the FBI gets in a similar jam with someone who uses serious security beyond what Apple offers, they'll have no one to come crying to. So sad. LULZ

mrgreen: I still haven't tried Kali. I've tried a few other flavors of Linux, but not Kali. It looks like it's definitely worth trying out and so I'll be looking into it in the not too distant future. Thanks for the reminder!

Integrate WHONIX with Kali Linux to Achieve Anonymity
This Linux distro might be of interest to people serious about online privacy, security, and anonymity.
How to become anonymous is the most common question that everybody asks on the internet. There could be many reasons to be an anonymous user; you are a journalist, and you want to get in touch with a whistleblower, or maybe you just care about your privacy. Cyber security professionals want anonymity for black-box testing and many other purposes. Regardless the reason, the objective is to be anonymous.
