Jamming GPS Signals Is Illegal, Dangerous, Cheap, and Easy
Blackturtle posted soemthing about a weird GPS error on another message board which I check out from time to time and so I thought this might be an interesting topic for this message board.
The sale and use of jammers, even by police, is a federal crime with punishment ranging from fines to prison time. Whatever a user’s individual reasons may be, the jammers can present a serious threat, scrambling the satellite signals that vital systems—phones, airplanes, the New York Stock Exchange—depend on. When one of them is in use, those systems can go haywire.

Drug dealers use trackers a lot to keep track of questionable customers. Private eyes and the law as well.

When the caravan of immigrants hits the USA border there will probably be a bunch of drones in the air being flown by people hoping to capture something interesting on both sides of the border. Many will be equipped with GPS devices to keep track of which side of the border they are on. Our military undoubtedly has the ability to jam the GPS and to disable the drones. To what lengths the military will go to rid the area of drones and cameras is difficult to say, but I'm sure that they would like to avoid the possibility of video of embarrassing incidents.

Basically, Carrier Strike Group 4 Is Jamming GPS Across U.S. Southeast Coast
The ability to block GPS signals provides a strategic advantage against an enemy, but knowing what to do when the enemy blocks GPS signals is equally important.
In an operational environment jamming GPS signals represents both a threat and an important capability. In addition to serving an important purpose in navigation on land, sea and in the air, GPS also provides targeting capability for precision weapons along with many other tactical and strategic purposes.

The Russians are screwing with the GPS system to send bogus navigation data to thousands of ships
You can buy basic equipment to jam GPS signals for about $300. Keep in mind that it is very illegal to actually use it.
Especially around airports. :thumb:
Russian President Vladimir Putin's summer home, or dacha, is protected by a GNSS-spoofing array that helps create a no-fly zone over his vast Italian-style mansion, C4ADS found.
