HUGE Solar Generator For OFF GRID! 1500Wh MAXOAK Bluetti Lithium Portable Power Station Review
It'll run a small air conditioner for 2.5 hours, a microwave, desktop computers, etc. The fact that you can recharge with solar panels and are not dependent on a supply of gas is a huge plus.

Titan Solar Generator - 3000w Inverter + 2000w Max Solar Array + Expandable Lithium Battery
This is a pretty beefy unit, but within ten years something the same size will probably run a full house for a normal 24-hour period. So should you buy now or wait?

Ultra-Small Water Power Generator
Not likely to be of much use in the desert, it's still an interesting gadget that might be of some interest to people near springs.

water vs. wind vs. solar - Nothing beats solar in the desert, but in places where there's lots of water going hydro seems like it's actually simpler. I'd like to know more about generating electricity with bicycles. There was an ACDC video with girls on bicycles. That seems like a really good idea.

Elon Musk on the Tesla Power Wall
Musk is right, eventually devices like this one will replace systems dependent on power lines just like cell phones have almost completely replaced landlines.
