Helpful Map Shows Most STD-Ridden Cities in America
Certain parts of the country are high-risk areas when it comes to sexually transmitted diseases. This map provides some information about where to avoid. However, if promiscuous sex is your idea of recreation and entertainment, you will probably find that like-minded individuals are most likely to live in high-risk areas.

Teens invent condom that changes color if you have an STD
This seems like a good idea to me. It's a good way to screen potential sex partners. It's a little late in the game, but better late than never!

There's no doubt that promiscuity and STDs go together. That's probably whyUtah looks pretty clean on the map. I'm not saying that everyone in Utah is squeaky clean, but people who take religious prohibitions against sex outside of marriage seriously tend not to be promiscuous and the less people have sex with multiple partners, the harder it is for STDs to spread.

Almost Everyone in the World Has Herpes!
Of course, there is a big difference between genital and oral herpes and so this headline makes the situation sound worse than it actually is.

Is TINDER Behind the STD Boom?
Not exactly a high-level discussion, but a number of interesting points made, just not made all that well.

Congenital syphilis rates high in Kern County
You wouldn't think of Kern County as the kind of place where there'd be an above average amount of promiscuous sex. Kern is a relatively conservative county in a relatively liberal state.

Internet apps are making it way too easy for people to hook up and then it's wam bam and thank-you ma'am. Switching partners is less of a hassle and so instead of sticking with someone they move on more quickly. More sex, more often, with more people makes it easy for germs to spread and provides a hotbed that could result in new and more dangerous strains of hitherto controllable diseases. We're fucked!
