I've always been a little uncertain about who fits into what generation and so here's a quick list: Traditionalists or Silent Generation - 1945 or earlier Baby Boomers - 1946 to 1964 Generation X - 1965 to 1976 Millennials (Gen Y) - 1977 to 1995 Centennials (Gen Z or iGen) - 1996 and later The cutoffs for different generations vary a lot. Sometimes you see the Baby Boom ending in 1960 or 1962, for instance. Also the social circumstances of different individuals changes the generation they identify with, especially for people born near the cutoff years.

Not to be hating on Millenials since I have three kids who are part of that generation, but as a group they do have some negative behavior patterns that keep them from being as successful as might otherwise be the case. Probably their biggest fault is that they blame everyone else for their problems. It's never their fault! Also they whine way too much. They complain all the time about how hard it is raising kids and when that happens I just smile and say TELL ME ABOUT IT! They don't handle inconveniences very well and every time they have to deal with something slightly difficult or unexpected they act like they deserve some kind of medal of valor or something. The poor forlorn snowflakes don't realize that every generation before them had it twice as hard. Such a concept is way beyond their ability to even begin to comprehend!
