Porn or artistic nudity? 17th century bare breasts considered inappropriate by Facebook
Nudity should not be an issue in any case! No part of the human body should be considered obscene. Modern prudishness is a joke and rules against online nudity should be reconsidered. Nudes are not pornography or erotica. Nudes are just nudes and there's no reason they should be banned.

Is It Ever Appropriate for Men to Be Topless in Public?
No shirt, no shoes, no service! That's the norm here in the USA, but it's not a big deal one way or the other.

I hate wearing a shirt but I don't like tattoos. Especially on a beautiful woman but I have to confess that it can be a good excuse to start up a conversation. I would never get a tattoo but if I did I think it would be cool to have one that said “ASK ME ABOUT MY TATTOO”.

As for public nudity be it art or otherwise I'm all for it. I remember a girlfriend telling me that she spent some time at a nudist colony where everyone except this one girl was naked and she only wore her top. Guess who all the men and most of the ladies were staring at? She was also the one everyone was hitting on. Go figure!

There should be public places where nudity is allowed, such as beaches and some parks, but most public places should not be clothing optional. When it comes to social media, I don't see an issue with nudity. If you don't like the images on a website, then don't look at them. Nudity does not harm children, but nudity is not the same thing as pornography and I think many people have difficulty with that distinction.

CrustyOldFart: It's a fairly easy distinction as far as I'm concerned. Pornography involves sex and nudity is just body parts. It's pretty simple actually.

Ya know, that may be too simple and make too much sense for people to understand.

There are a bunch of ways of defining pornography and obscenity. What some find objectionable, others consider to be no big deal or even merely humorous. I've seen just about everything there is to see in terms of internet porn and mostly I just roll my eyes at the kinds of things people post. It's not always clear if the images are posted to illicit arousal or laughs to be quite frank, but in general I agree with the title of this thread. Nude is not lewd.

When it comes to defining what constitutes porn I've seen two general trends. One requires that actual sexual activity be depicted and the other is based on whether or not an image or video arouses the viewer. Obviously no image of sexual activity will arouse everyone and some images of sexual activity will possibly arouse no one at all. On the other hand some pictures might only arouse a tiny subset of the population. For instance, consider shoe fetishists and how they might react to ordinary images of shoes. No judgment! LOL

Thats why I think Crusty Ol Fart hit it on the head. The fewer words the better. KISS it. (Keep It Simple Stupid) If James from Cal City reads this, I'm not calling anyone, anything stupid! A simple expression.

I get aroused by mathematics. Therefore it should be banned!
