Paul Thorn "I Don't Like Half the Folks I Love"
A lot of people complained when Gov. Newsom put a ten person limit on Thanksgiving gatherings. I was relieved. It gave me an excuse to stay home and have a very small get together with just my wife and a few carefully selected folks who's company we enjoy. Thanks Gov. Newsom for keeping Thanksgiving friendly and restful! I still wouldn't call myself a fan of Gov. Newsom, but I gotta be fair and give credit where credit is due!

MojaveMike: Even without the governor's mandate I would have used COVID as an excuse not to travel. Not that I don't "like" my loved ones (like the song says), but all that travel is such a hassle. I'd rather just enjoy a household T-day dinner and visit with a few close friends and relatives online or on the phone. It's easier and it's just as satisfying as far as I'm concerned.

MojaveMike and torn80: What Newsom has to say is irrelevant as far as I'm concerned, but he did provide a nice excuse! Nothing wrong with using what's available to dodge a few unwanted social events. Actually my life has been much more calm and peaceful as a result of social distancing. There are a lot of people I like to see on occasion, but most of the time I like to see them, but I'm even happier to see them go after spending a little time with them. My wife is a little more sociable than I am, but she leans in my direction on this issue, just not as far.

Johnny Cash - Folsom Prison Blues Lyrics
No list of country classics would be complete without a song or two or three or more from Johnny Cash.

Beasts Of Bourbon - Psycho (1988)
This song was actually released in 1984 on an album called "The Axeman's Jazz." It's a cover version of the song which was actually written by Leon Payne. Elvis Costello also recorded the song, but his version is not even close to as good as this one. Eddie Noack also recorded the song and released a version of the song in 1968. Jack Kittel released a version of the song in 1973 and another version of the song was done by Andre Williams & The Sadies.
