Russia: Patriarch Kirill delivers Divine Liturgy in candlelit Moscow Cathedral for 70th birthday
One thing that makes it so easy for the news media to manipulate American attitudes about Russia is the lack of knowledge Americans have about Russia. Most people have only heard of Putin and no one else. They have no idea that there are many other important figures in Russia who actively shape policy in Russia. This makes it easy for the news media to perpetuate the myth that Putin is a dictator. This false narrative can be easily refuted if people take a little time to learn something about the political landscape within Russia. Patriarch Krill has a huge influence on policies in Russia. No info in this video pertaining to policies, but it's not hard to imagine what policies would be supported by a conservative Russian Orthodox religious leader.

Russian FM Lavrov Reacts to Obama Plead to Trump to stand up to Russia's Putin
Americans who actually follow international news will be familiar with Lavrov since as Minister of Foreign Affairs for Russia he appears in the news fairly often. Most often John Kerry (US Secretary of State) will also be in any news clip in which Lavrov appears.

Duma Member: Vyacheslav Nikonov
Nevermind the sloppy and inaccurate translations, this video features Vyacheslav Nikonov (Russian State Duma Deputy). Nikonov says he is cautiously optimistic about future relations with the USA. The CNN translation of Nikonov's statement is that he congratulated other members of the Russian Duma for Trump's victory, whereas the truth is that he was congratulating Americans for electing a new president. Elsewhere we've heard that Putin never praised Trump as intelligent. The accurate translation of Putin's comments was that Trump has a colorful personality. It doesn't seem that accurately translating the words of foreign leaders would be difficult, which has lead many to question the intentions of media news outlets since it seems that these inaccurate translations are intentional.

Burger time for Obama and Medvedev
This is from a few years ago, but it features Dmitry Medvedev who has served as both president and prime minister of Russia. Currently Medvedev is prime minister and Putin is president.

Vyacheslav Volodin - Current chairman of the State Duma. Born in 1964 and member of United Russia (the same party which Medvedev and Putin belong to). He (along with other prominent Russian politicians and businessmen) was individually targeted by the sanctions imposed by the USA. He cannot enter European Union countries and any assets which he owns in those countries have been frozen.

Russian Geography 29: Politics in Russia
Although not exactly comprehensive, this quick lesson does provide some info about politics in Russia which most people probably don't know about.
Currently of the 450 seats in the State Duma, 238 are held by the United Russia party, 92 are held by the Communist Party, 64 are held by the A Just Russia party, and the remaining 56 seats belong to the LDPR party. This gives United Russia a strong majority and lots of influence when it comes to politics in Russia.

President Putin Sends New Year's Wishes From Moscow
When V. Putin speaks I hear the words of a leader of historical significance. When Obummer speaks all I hear is the mindless quacking of a lame duck!

What did you honestly expect when government tried to apply affirmative action principals to the office of the presidency? We've been living in an Idiocracy. Hopefully Trump will change that.
