Jimmy Kimmel Gives High School Valedictorian the Chance to Finish Speech
Reactionary administrators often wind up making themselves look pretty stupid. Never stifle free speech. It's better to allow someone to have their say than to take the risk of looking like a total ass.

Allegation: NC Teacher Forced Students to Apologize for White Privilege
It's hard to tell how much of this actually happened and how much of this is just gossip.
Allegations involving a teacher forcing students to apologize for their ‘white privilege’ surfaced during the May 8th meeting of the Rockingham County School Board.

Boys Wear Skirts To Protest At School
I've always been against strict dress codes and definitely against school uniforms, but pretty much every school has some kind of a dress code. As long as it's fair and reasonable there shouldn't be a problem, but the dress code discussed in this discussion video bans boys from wearing shorts, even on a hot day. That seems unreasonable to me!

Now kids can easily program a complex robot to recognize a smile
This sounds like a fun way to teach coding skills to kids. It's very difficult to explain the importance of knowing how to code to someone who doesn't know how to code, but coding is behind almost everything we do in the modern world, one way or the other, like it or not. To fail to provide kids with opportunities to learn how to code beginning at a very young age is no longer acceptable.
MIT Media Lab created Scratch in 2007, and Anki is utilizing an open-source version called Scratch Blocks that was developed as a collaboration between Google and MIT. Kids who use Scratch are “learning the core computational concepts that are important for any other type of programming language,” says Mitchel Resnick, a professor of learning research at the MIT Media Lab and one of Scratch’s creators.

Mother is upset son's name appeared on school 'Kill List'
A "kill list" in the context of a group of kids who play video games all the time is very different from such a list in the hands of a bunch of little, wannabe gang member thugs. It might be that the mother of the kid in this news clip is over-reacting just a bit.

Report of student cheating on AP test
This is quite a mess. It would be a pity if 500 students are forced to retake the test as the result of a picky detail.
