CactusHugger: Indeed! Very impressive! I have great admiration for growers capable of producing a crop like the stuff featured in the video you posted.

The new thread called Free Weed in the Local News section of this board includes the suggestion that someone start a business growing and selling weed in Trona. It is pointed out that houses are cheap in Trona and that by installing solar panels on the roofs of otherwise empty houses one could set up an inexpensive indoor marijuana farm and thereby start a successful business. Sound like a great idea to me!

shadylady: Sounds like a great idea to me too. Water is not too big of a deal when you're talking about indoor agriculture and so it sounds like a proposition with some potential to me. A hard working entrepreneurial type would probably do well starting such an operation!

A New Major For Science-Minded Students: Marijuana
Marijuana is just one plant among many with potential medicinal value. Why not have a major devoted to techniques for cultivating plants in general? Maybe it could be called HORTICULTURE! And include a few classes devoted to specific or groups of plants. A major focused specifically on a single plant seems more like a gimmick than legitimate academics.

California's marijuana muddle
The trend is towards complete legalization with regulation as per tobacco and alcohol. I expect bumps in the road, but I expect the trend to continue and to spread across the entire country.

Dr. Sanjay Gupta: Why I changed my mind about marijuana
A problem with scientific studies regarding marijuana is that they focused on the negatives for many decades. This bias made it difficult to see the benefits of marijuana.

panamint_patty: The government would fund certain studies that focused on the negative and not fund those that focused on the positive effects of marijuana. Politics as usual. Scientists search for the truth, but they can't do anything without funding. Dumb politicians deciding what smart scientists can and can't do. Demonstrates the fundamental problem with our country. Idiots are in charge!
